A conversation lesson about having a healthy lifestyle. Three main efforts to live healthily: have enough sleep, exercise, and eat nutritious meals.


Vocabulary:

Lifestyle                      n. The habits, attitudes, tastes, moral standards, economic level, etc., together constitute the mode of living of an individual or group.

ex. When you have all luxury items and can buy whatever you want, this is an example of your lifestyle.

 

Healthy lifestyle         Doing things that make you happy and feel good; is a way of living that lowers the risk of being seriously ill or dying early.

 

Diet                            n. The kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.

                                   ex. Exclude sugar and starch from your diet.

 

Pay attention              (idiom) to concentrate on

                                   ex. Pay attention to what he says.

 

Brunch                       n. a meal usually taken late in the morning that combines a late breakfast and an early lunch

                                   ex. Instead of breakfast, we have brunch.

B:            I think processed food is not healthy.

B:            I do pay attention to what I eat. I usually have low carbohydrates and high protein dishes.

I prefer to eat fruits, vegetables, chicken, and dark chocolates only.

B:            I try to but most of the time, I have brunch at 11 in the morning.

B:            Yes, I do. I eat a snack when I feel hungry.

B:            Yes, I tried to go on a diet. I only have soup for supper.
